2" O.D alumina tube can be used at operating temperature up to 1700 oC in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. Tubes have been evacuated to 10-7 Torr. It proves inert for carbon and refractory metals in many severe situations.

| Warning |
- Do NOT use an alumina tube under a vacuum at a temperature > 1500 °C for a 1-3" tube, and < 1200 °C for a 3.15- 4“ tube
- Gas pressure shall be < 200 ccm
- Max heating or cooling rate < 5°C/ minute.
- Please keep the thermal gradient less than 100°C/ inch to avoid cracking in the multi-zone tube furnace

Please use a crucible to separate parts from the inside surface of the tube to avoid thermal shock.
