The one-end open quartz tube with a pair of compression flanges is designed for high vacuum application up to 1e-6 torr via a turbopump.

Application Notes

Ceramic Crucibles ( Alumina, Quartz and Zirconia etc )
MTI recommends placing the sample inside a quartz crucible instead of  puting the sample directly inside the quartz tube to extend service life.
