Temperature controller |
- PID automatic control via SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) power control.
- Self-tuning and built-in protection from the overheated and broken thermocouple. Please click here to learn why SCR is more accurate than SSR (Solid State Relay)
- MET certified 30 programmable segments for precise control of heating rate, cooling rate, and dwell time.
- Over-temperature protection and alarm allow for operation without attendant(s).
- +/- 1 ºC temperature control during the dwelling.
- RS485 Communications Port.
- Computer-access Temperature Control
- You may upgrade the temperature controller to the Eurotherm 3004 Temperature Controller which is compatible with LabVIEW. This package includes a Eurotherm 3004 programmer, and a communication cable (RS485 - USB). (Optional - LabVIEW program and OPC service are not included)
|
Vacuum Line (Optional)
|
- The furnace is ready to connect with a mechanical pump or a turbopump with a KF-25 adapter.
- Ultimate vacuum pressure:
- ~ 2 Torr by a diaphragm dry pump (EQ-OFDP-2-LD, dry pump is required for flammable gas)
- ~ 8 mTorr by a rotary vane pump (EQ-FYP-Pump, oil pump)
- ~ 10^-5 Torr by a pumping station with a 33 L/s turbopump (EQ-PV-HVS-LD)
|
Flanges and Gas Inlet
|
- One pair of stainless steel vacuum flanges with silicone o-rings is pre-connected for the two ends of the tube, which allows a high vacuum up to 10E-5 torr and 5 PSI positive pressure.
- Mechanical Pressure Gauge
- Mass flow controller: 0-1000 ml
- Two solenoid valves and a check valve to control the gas inlet of the hydrogen and inert gases.
- The two-stage regulator is required but not included for gas cylinders.
|
Flammable Exhaust Burning Module
|
- Automatic ignition system: hydrogen gas is self-ignited by the filament at the exhaust to prevent an unstable flame from the small flow rate and inevitable air disturbance.
- Over-pressure protection: The pressure relief line will be open automatically if pressure is over 0.1 MPa. The hydrogen inlet and heating element will cut off as well. If the automation system fails, the mechanical pressure-relief valve will be open if pressure is over 0.15 MPa.
- Pirani pressure gauge.
- Flow detection: If the gas flow is not detected, the alarm will be activated to cut off the gas & power source.
-
Filament status monitoring: A mutual inductor is installed to monitor the working status of the filament. Once the filament passes its working lifetime, the user will receive a notification to change the filament.
|
Hydrogen Gas Detector (included)
|
- One Honeywell UL Approved Sensepoint Gas Detector is Integrated into the system.
- Working Temperature Range: 40ºF to +149ºF (-40ºC to +65ºC)
- Alarm Point: H2 Limited Explosive Line 20% (20% LEL). Once detecting H2 gas beyond the point, it will shut off the inlet valve to the H2 and heating elements automatically.
-
Once the alarm is activated, the gas source, heating elements, and exhaust line will be cut off.
|
Communication Module with a Wifi Router
|
- The communication module enables full automation and remote control of the hydrogen gas tube furnace by access to the following parts,
- Mass flow controller
- All the solenoid valves
- Precision temperature controller for heating profile and furnace on/off
- Pressure gauge
- Flow sensor
- Hydrogen gas detector
- Filament sensor
- All the software is written by Labview, which can be integrated into other LabVIEW programs.
- A brand new laptop with Microsoft window 10 and pre-installed automation software for immediate use (optional).

Warning Click here to learn more about the installation of a gas regulator.
|
- The tube furnaces with alumina tube are designed for use under vacuum and low pressure < 0.02 MPa / 0.2 Bar/ 3 PSI (relative to 1 atm)
- Attention: A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator.
- Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure shall keep within the furnace chamber.
- The flow rate for gasses should be limited to < 200 SCCM ( or 200ml/min )
- The hydrogen gas furnace must be placed under fume hood Please click here to view the spec of MTI EQ-FH-36 fume hood.
- Vacuum limit definition for all alumina tube furnaces: * Vacuum pressures may only be safely used up to 1500°C
