Vacuum-Suction Casting Method
|
- A top casting utilizes the suction force to produce a 3- 5 mm rod shape metal alloy with ~150mm length
- Shrinkage cavity defects of the alloy can be significantly reduced by utilizing such a suction casting method
- The sucking force is generated by the rapid movement of the syringe piston (manually operated)
- Observation window (12mm Dia.) on the top flange allows you to monitor the melt conditions

Warning

- Attention: Protective inert gas must be continuously filled throughout the suction casting process in order to protect the graphite crucible and the melt.
- Attention: A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator.
- Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages.
