MSK-180SP is a gas-driven die cutter for producing pouch battery cathode/anode electrodes ( no electricity required ) Its compact design enables the operation inside a glove box with Ar atmosphere where moisture/oxygen-sensitive electrodes will be cut (such as lithium metal electrode for Lithium-Sulfur, Lithium Air, and Lithium Solid-State batteries).
MTI has granted the patent 201220308662.1 for the Pouch Cell Die Cutting Machine MSK-180SP since January 2013.

Standard Cutting Die Dimension

Two standard electrodes (Cathode & Anode) cutting dies are included for immediate use.
- Cathode Die: 56mm (L) x 43mm (W). With 14mm (L) x 11mm (W) protrude current collector.
- Anode Die: 58mm (L) x 45mm (W). With 13mm (L) x 11mm (W) protrude current collector

Customized dies with Max. dimension 120mm L x 80mm W, including current collector, available at extra cost. Please indicates the customized electrode dimension of A,B,C,D in the following diagram.

- If used for Li metal foil cutting, a customized cutting die with special blades (surface coated with silicon) should be considered.

- To use outside the glove box, you may use the air compressor, 60 psi recommended
