MSK-AFA-PD100 is a mini coater with a 100mm coating width flat slot die for slot die coating, or a 6um wire rod for micro gravure coating. It is an excellent tool to research film coating for OLED, perovskitesolar cells, and fuel cell proton exchange membranes.

Syringe Pump

- Built-in syringe pump with a variable speed in the range from 0.05 to 5.0 mm/s
- Touch screen panel for setting up the parameters
- One 20mL stainless steel syringe with a plastic plunger is included.
- A O.D. 3.2 mm PTFE tubing and its connection accessories are included.
- The syringe is included with the "Slot Die Coating" and "Combination" Options.
- We have changed the syringe fixture part since May, 2024, so regular plastic syringes are included instead of stainless steel ones.

Gap Control

- Two micrometer heads are built in the travel rod of the coater to adjust the gap between the slot die and the substrate
- Two digital drop indicators are provided to move with the slot die.
- The Micrometers are included in the "Slot Die Coating" and "Combination" Options.
- The flatness resolution of the vacuum chunk plate is around 5-10 um.

Application Note |
- Coating thickness is not dependent on or equal to the gap between the slot die head and substrate.
- Usually, the gap shall be larger than the coating thickness. Coated thickness is strongly dependent on slurry viscosity, coating speed, and flow speed. ( Lower viscosity, low flow rate, and low speed will result in a thinner film. Please practice finding the best parameters which suitable for you
- Example 5% carbon+ polymer, viscosity: 500mPa·s, substrate: Al foil of 16 um,
- Gap: 200 um, Slurry feeding rate:: 0.1 ml/minute , Coating speed: 12mm/s
