Ultrasonic spray utilizes ultrasonic energy to break liquid and form a few micron drop size. The ultrasonic spray nozzle can use low vibration energy to make liquid atomized via gravity and low-pressure compressed air.MSK-SP-01A is a 130 W, 40 kHz ultrasonic spraying nozzle with a power controller for DIY, low-cost spray pyrolysis coating in the material research lab. (Updated with digital current meter and KF25 adaptor since July 27, 2015)

Specifications:

Spray Nozzle

Two Spray nozzles made of Titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) with KF-25 Adapte (click left picture to see details)
    • One cylindrical type - provides a narrower spray pattern with ~2 cm diameter
    • One cone type - provides a wider spray pattern ~ 4 cm diameter
    • KF25 quick clamp is included to connect the spray head to the KF25 port
    • Max. temperature: 70 °C
  • Volumetric flow rate: Q= μ*A*(2P/ρ)0.5
  • Flow Velocity: W=μ*(2P/ρ)0.5\
  • μ is flow rate coefficient, A = πd2 / 4 - Nozzle sectional area; P is hydrostatic pressure, ρ is solution density.
  • μ = 0.62 - flow rate coefficient for the hole;
  • μ = 0.83 - for nozzle with sharp inlet edge (figure I);
  • μ = 0.97 - for nozzle with smooth inlet edge (figure II);
  • μ = 1.15 - for cone nozzle with smooth inlet edge (figure III). Nozzle taper 7° < β < 12°.
  • Spraying speed: 5 mL/min~ 40 mL/min (0.3L/hr - 2.4L / hr.)
  • Fluid viscosity range: 1 - 100 mPa·s (cP)
  • Customized nozzle shape is available upon request at extra cost.

Option
  • Compressive air vortex shaper for spray nozzles is available at extra cost which will make spraying more uniform. (Pic. 1 and 2) Only suitable for MTI cylindrical type spray nozzles.
