SP-MSM-800A is a complete turn-key arc-melting system with a water-cooled high vacuum chamber, 5 melting cavities, vacuum casting, and electromagnetic stirring. It allows researchers to explore the next generation of alloy.

Melting Chamber

- Leakage: <5.0 x 10^-4 (mbar·l)/s (5.0 x 10-5 Pa·m3/s).
- The chamber size: 400mm Dia x 350mm L
- Two tinted observation windows (dia. 100 mm) on the front for monitoring the melting process
- Hinged front door
- The sample manipulator is built-in for sample flipping without breaking the vacuum

Two types of copper hearth are optional: (1) Single copper hearth for melting 500g ( stainless steel), Pic. 1 ( 120 dia. x 20 depth, mm) (2) A 5-cavity water-cooled copper hearth with vacuum casting ( Vaccum suction) and electromagnetic stirring. (Pic. 2)
- Cavity 1: Ø80×35 mm with electromagnetic stirring
- Cavity 2: Ø65×25 mm with electromagnetic stirring
- Cavity 3: Ø65×25 mm with vacuum suction casting
- Cavity 4: Ø50×25 mm for Ti or Zr gettering.

- The control switch of the pneumatic high vacuum gate valve is integrated at the front of the system.
- A pressure gage with a range of 1 x 103 m-bar – 1 x 10-7 m-bar is installed on the chamber and a pressure gage with a range of 1 x 103 m-bar - 1 x 10-5 m-bar is installed on the fore-line between the fore-line valve and the scroll pump.
