The MSK-AFA-MR200 is a compact roll-to-roll slot die coating system with a low-pressure slot die coating head, which is compatible with dilute solution (viscosity<1000 cP) for ultrathin film coating (<10 um). It is designed to do the thin film coating within 10 um thickness for PV films (especially for perovskite photovoltaic film coating), fuel cells, OLED, solar cells, and polymer ion conductive membranes, and battery electrodes.

10.Optional: Atmosphere plasma treatment is available upon request. The plasma treatment could activate and increase the energy of the substrate.

Slot Die Heads

Shim (Spacer)

  • 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4 mm, and 0.5mm thick shims are included for producing films with various thicknesses.
  • Tip: The thickness of the shim determines the slot opening of the die and thus has a major impact on the final coating thickness. The rule of thumb is that thinner shim will produce the thinner film, vice versa. 

Unwinding Roller & Substate

  • Unwinding Roller: Diameter: 200 mm; Width: 230 mm
  • Substrate for the roll to roll coating
      • Inner diameter: 75 mm
      • Outer diameter: Maximum 150 mm
      • Width <= 200 mm
      • Thickness: 6-30 um

    Coating Length

    • The coating length depends on the coating width and thickness.
    • For example, If 30 mm width and 0.2 mm thickness, the coating length can reach 15 meters by a 100 ml pump.

    Coating Speed

    • 0 - 0.5 m/min adjustable via the touch screen control panel

    Coating Thickness & Precision

    • Single-layer coating thickness: 5 - 300 micron, which is decided by slurry viscosity, feeding speed, and the gap between slot die and substrate.
    • The end-user has to practice to find the best parameters.
    • 1 µm ±1% ( dried film )

    Attention: The final coating thickness is dependent on a wide range of parameters such as slurry viscosity, solid particle size, solid content, shim thickness, foil rolling speed, and slurry feeding rate. Therefore, we are not able to guarantee that a 1-micron level film is achievable for all kinds of slurries. For further discussion, please let us know your slurry specs and coating thickness requirement.

    Slurry Feeding

    • Large syringe pump with 500 mL or 1L or screw pump with 4L are also available upon request (optional)

    The corona treatment for substrate is available upon request

     

    Glovebox Integration (Optional)

    If the slurry for coating is air/humidity sensitive, the glovebox can be integrated with the roll-to-roll coater

    • You may order Dual-Filtration System for NMP Vapor (Pic. 1) and connect it to the coating system for keeping environmentally healthy.
    • You may order the Magnetic De-ironing Filtration system (Pic. 2) for optimizing the battery electrode slurry condition before the coating process.
    •  Atmosphere plasma treatment is available upon request. The plasma treatment could activate and increase the energy of the substrate.
